The Yeni Mosque of Komotini (Yeni Camii), known as the New Temenos is an Ottoman monument founded in the late 16th century (1585). It is older by about 25 years of the so-called Old Mosque (Eski Mosque). It is located at the center of the city, next to the Clock Tower and is architecturally influenced by Neoclassicism.
Its foundation is attributed to Ahmet Pasha Ekmektzoglou. The inscription of 1902 informs us about the extensive renovations and expansions of the mosque while it was also renovated in 2007-8.
